Therapy for Anxiety

Anxiety is a pervasive problem in our society that takes many forms.

Anxiety may feel like an endless pit in your stomach or intrusive thoughts that seem impossible to control. It can keep you up at night or keep you distracted all day. It can make you self-conscious, hindering your opportunity to connect with others.

When we suppress emotions that feel too overwhelming to address, it expends energy and causes tension that we experience as anxiety.

Part of my role as your therapist is to accompany you through difficult feelings, memories, or beliefs that underlay and feed your anxiety. The result is that they no longer control you and you can walk through your days feeling more calm, aware, and present.

And, while we are doing the longer-term work of getting to the sources of your anxiety, you will gain new skills that will help you ease the day-to-day stress and pressure.
